泽旋 grew up in a Chinese village where the food was grown fresh and was minimally processed, where plastic had not yet become ubiquitous, and where life was untouched, slow and practical.
No fridge. No internet. No television. No cars.
James Corwin grew up in Los Angeles with processed foods, plastic toys, freeway traffic, asphalt and concrete. Modernity.
After moving to China and meeting Sophie, James was blown away by the speed at which her connection to nature was destroyed. Her childhood village was now flooded with plastic, concrete, and low quality food.
Some things however, have remained untouched.
工夫茶 (gōngfù chá), or “hard work tea,” is an art that involves brewing delightful tea with effort and finesse. This area of China has practiced 工夫茶 for over 1000 years. Rather than using tea bags, large mugs, and microwaved tap water, it requires fresh, loose leaf tea, tiny delightful cups, and the freshest water available. The difference is tangible.
The connection with natural elements and care in ceremony create a soul-satisfying experience to share.
We extended this idea beyond tea, bringing thought, care, and ceremony back to the modern, fast paced, one-time-use world.
We collect things that last and tell a story. Humble things, delightful, satisfying, and with a connection to nature. Unsatisfied with the direction of modern life, Sophie and James teamed up and created Dinosaur Green.
Back to Sophie’s childhood village.
James runs a YouTube Channel of personal video essays everything between the US and China.
